Hey guys I’m finally able to get to my own mining stuff now and what I needed to do before anything else was clean up the networking in the rack in order to move a server to the top part of the rack This is required for my octominer server POUW rig to be put at the bottom of the rack

Hey guys So we had a heat wave in Ottawa, reaching 44C/112F degrees! This was a great test to put into practice what I preached and everything worked out in the end! We had to make a few tweaks to optimize airflow and cooling/dehumidifier but we were able to keep stable below ambient temperatures in the shed and everything stayed on!

Hey guys we had our first really hot day here and I needed to out my theory to the test on cooling the shed regardless of the heat outside And it worked I was able to bring the shed down to reasonable 24 degrees even when it was 35 degrees outside! So this is the last major upgrade to the shed preparing for the summer weather and now we are all set!

Hey guys I saw a decent ad for server case and GPUs. I decided to pull the trigger and go buy it for my 3070 rig. These were supposed to be in an octominer pouw case but they still haven’t sent me a new unit so I needed to get these cards back online. Happy with how it turned out hope you are too!

Hey guys finally finished (almost) the hot isle for the miners, this is a critical step into creating a sealed exhaust and next phase we will be cooling the interior of the shed with air conditioning We also revamped the entire networking and increased the security of the shed network!

Well unfortunately the alternatives are all the same, too much available compute for the amount of demand. I’m on both salad and flux, but are very low and idle the mass majority of the time

So unfortunately neither have been good at all, the demand isn’t there and the amount of top end available hardware is too much. So at this point I would lean towards salad but even that is not great

how do you like the FS switch? do you use any vlans on it or just a plain config?
Thanks for the comment and view, sub for more :) The FS switch and Patch panel are fantastic, there are so many options of an L3 switch on there it really give the flexibility of an expensive Switch without the $$. I highly recommend for the use of L3 features in an L2 switch, I did a small review on my channel last year you can take a look it goes through some of the deatures

Interesting video and very clean and organized setup 😁 Personally, i have built a POUW machine with a Xeon, 96go RAM and 3x 3060 TI 8go, and for the moment there is no jobs on FluxEdge, hope it happen soon ! I have another PC with an I5 10400f, 32go RAM and an RTX 3080, same here, no jobs since yesterday... Anyone knows if this is normal for the moment ? I think there is simply not enough demand at this point, it's the start of FluxEdge, but i could be wrong ?
Thanks for stopping by and the comment! I think right now its just the start of AI and renting decentralized compute, in the next 10 months I think Fluxedge will explode as AI compute costs in-house becomes too expensive and AI becomes more popular :)

Haha oh it was f’@$$& hot that’s for sure! But with the tweaks and config in the shed we made it through with flying colours :) I can rest now knowing that even in extreme heat the shed will not blow up! Haha

How many watts are you using on cooling?
0-watts if it’s below 35C
Those are cute temperatures my brother, we have 38C minimum all day everyday despite the rain since literally March here in the Kingdom lol But i understand the struggle, especially since humidly is nasty for all that hardware. Happy midweek and stay hydrated my brother 🙏🏽💪🏽
I would not run AC to cool my mining equipment it will crank up your hydro bill all you need is good air flow and the right set up your cold side of your shed should be the same as outside
How much are you cooling? Also you know this is how datacenters are cooled right? As well with airflow you can’t cool past ambient so when it’s 45C outside and humidity your units are starting at 60C even with the best coolers
I am cooling 11 000 watts I have hot and cold Ile setup in summer my cold side is always the same temp as outside I am in Ontario and I have never seen a asic hosting facility with Ac
